Saturday 2nd December 2023- Kairos Arts Concert Cathy Sara did readings in between the choir items O come o come Emmanuel Es ist ein ros’ ent’sprungen The Virgin’s Slumber song -Max Reger ( ladies) O Magnum Mysterium–Victoria (John) Quelle est cette odeur - Willcocks The Shepherd’s Carol –Bob Chilcott A maiden most gentle arr. Carter Deck the Hall Esta Noche –Rutter And the Glory(Messiah) –Handel (Isaiah 40 v. 4-5) The work of Kairos was explained to the audience Riu riu chiu We wish you a merry Christmas
Past Events
In 2024 the choir has sung in the Eisteddfod Choral Showcase, two weddings (one at St. Brelade’s Parish Church and the second at St Thomas’ Roman Catholic Church) and at an Advent concert for Kairos Arts with Cathy Sara, in addition to the events below. Thursday 24th October 2024: an Autumn concert was sung at St. Aubin’s Methodist Church. The programme is here. Sunday 17th November 2024: the choir sang in the Sacred Music Choir Class of The Jersey (Eisteddfod) Festival of the Performing Arts 2024
Saturday 28th June 2025: Saint-Jacut, Brittany The choir sang for a second time with the French choir Appassionata, directed by Mark Sweeting, in L’Eglise de Saint Jacut. The programme included, amongst other items Alma Redemptoris Mater by Palestrina, Sing Joyfully by William Byrd, Il Bianco e dolce cigno by Jacques Arcadelt, The Birds Lullaby by Sarah Quartel and a joint piece, La Mer by Charles Trenet. We stayed in the beautiful and tranquil L’Abbaye St Jacut de la Mer.
Sunday 13th July 2025: St. Saviour’s Parish Church The choir sang for the afternoon tea that was arranged by St Saviour’s Parish Church in gratitude for our being allowed to use the church for our rehearsal space. The programme was based on the pieces we had prepared for the concert at Saint Jacut and included all the pieces listed below.
